NEVER use wire wool or carbon steel brushes to clean your stainless steel door handles and pulls - this can cause damage to the surface and allow particles to become embedded in the surface leading to rusting or other corrosion occurring. Warm water, mild detergent and a soft cloth are all you really need to keep your stainless steel clean, and make sure to dry it well after cleaning to avoid any water marks being left behind. For more stubborn marks, any non-scratching household abrasive cleaner should do the trick, again make sure to rinse and dry thoroughly!
Lever operated door handles are very popular in European homes, as they are easier to use. This makes them suitable for elderly people, as this design of these handles does not require a tight grip; unlike the door knob, which may slip from the user's hand. The door knob is more commonly used in the United States because of its practicality and dual functions: it functions as a door latching mechanism and a lock at the same time. However, U.S. commercial and business establishments have woken up to the practicality of using the lever style of door handles. Aside from easy operation, they are less likely to jam. Further, the lever operated handles are more robust, and can withstand constant use.
And, as if all of those choices are not enough, both bronze handles and stainless steel door handles are available in a number of finishes for you to choose from. Both varieties are available in matte or gloss finishes. Stainless steel can be finished in a range of colors - white, black, gunmetal gray, and more. Bronze can be finished with varying levels of the golden coppery shade that bronze is known for. Both can be tooled so that they have wonderful texturing. Again, the choice is yours and, you might be pleasantly surprised at the variety of designer handles you have to choose from when you look. Aesthetics aside, bronze door handles and stainless steel pull handles are remarkably strong and easy to care for. Because bronze and stainless steel are both alloys, they are incredibly strong - that means that they are hard to dent, ding, or scratch, no matter what you do to them. It also means that a soft dry cloth is the only equipment required to keep your designer handles nicely polished and glistening.
